This is our nineteenth year of doing this event and there has been no change in our entrance fees since year one; quite an extraordinary run actually. Unfortunately this is the year we have increased fees due to the rising cost of printing, postage, t-shirts, medals, and fuel for shuttle service. Entance fees have increased by $5.00 across the board as you see below. We're sorry for any burden on our applicants, especially in these uncertain financial times, but these increases are necessary to continue our event.
The good news: canoe rental still $35.00
We know a lot of our racing friends make up their minds at the last minute and show up race morning to register, pay their fees, and launch their boats for a wild adventure on the Neches river just a tad late. Lots of us canoe racers are like that and that's fine; except for one not so minor problem at our race on the narrow Neches river. We have to start all those fine folks in several little groups so that everybody fits. When some of those folks show up late on Satuday morning this puts an awfully large strain on the nice ladies who work so hard to get everyone signed up and in the river on schedule, especially with more and more folks participating in our race every year. So, in an effort to help move things along on race day we've decided if you'll go ahead and sign up early we'll give you a pretty good chance to win a nice prize; a Garmin GPS unit.
